Have you ever
seen a cell phone
base station?

Base Stations are the big (or small) antennas that your cell phone connects to in order to get access to the internet or to speak with someone.
They are almost everywhere. Literally!
Many of them are quite obvious, but others can have some crazy designs, like the palm tree base station.

Mobile phones and base stations communicate with each other through electromagnetic waves, also known as radio frequency (RF) signals.
These are the same type of waves used in radios, microwaves ovens, radar systems, or even sunlight. The main difference between them is the actual frequency of the waves.
Types of Electromagnetic Waves

Health Effects
Electromagnetic waves emitted by the cell phone are partially absorbed by objects as they go through them, which makes the signals received by the base station weaker.
Cell phone towers monitor these signals and ask the cell phone to transmit more energy if the signal they receive is too weak. This drains your cell phone battery and can potentially heat up your brain if you happen to have your head between the cell phone and the base station.
The electromagnetic waves used in cell phones don’t have enough energy to break molecules such as DNA, however, they increase the temperature of biological tissue

National Institute of Health
“ The only consistently recognized biological effect of radiofrequency radiation in humans is heating. The ability of microwave ovens to heat food is one example of this effect of radiofrequency radiation. Radiofrequency exposure from cell phone use does cause heating to the area of the body where a cell phone or other device is held (e.g., the ear and head). However, it is not sufficient to measurably increase body temperature. There are no other clearly established effects on the human body from radiofrequency radiation.”

The Center for Disease Control
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) summarizes the current understanding on the health issues of cell phone use as follows:
“There is no scientific evidence that provides a definite answer to that question. Some organizations recommend caution in cell phone use.
More research is needed before we know if using cell phones causes health effects.”

The World Health Organization
“While an increased risk of brain tumors is not established, the increasing use of mobile phones and the lack of data for mobile phone use over time periods longer than 15 years warrant further research of mobile phone use and brain cancer risk.
In particular, with the recent popularity of mobile phone use among younger people, and therefore a potentially longer lifetime of exposure, WHO has promoted further research on this group. Several studies investigating potential health effects in children and adolescents are underway.”

How does
?Cellfdefense work
Cellfdefense is an app that uses state-of-the-art patented technology to reduce your levels of exposure to electromagnetic radiation.
Cellfdefense provides visual and audio clues to alert you when your body is in-between the cell phone and the base station and, therefore, potentially absorbing more electromagnetic radiation than absolutely necessary.

Switch
Hands
Ideal
Position
When you get Cellfdefense alerts, you can simply change the hand that you are using to hold the phone to ensure that you are doing your best to reduce your exposure. If you prefer to use headphones and keep the phone in your pocket when on a call, just change the pocket where you keep the phone.

Will Cellfdefense work in 5G networks?
Cellfdefense works on both old cell phone networks (4G and earlier), as well as in the more modern 5G networks. In fact, while 4G cell phones transmit RF signals in roughly all directions, 5G cell phones try to save battery life by transmitting the signals only in the direction of the base station. This allows Cellfdefense to be even more effective in reducing your level of exposure. The team at Cellfdefense is also hard at work developing a patented RF screen protector so that no matter where you carry your phone, you are always protected.

Make Informed Decisions
Cell phones are a key part of our modern life. Until we understand better the effects of their long term use, let's all do our part to reduce our unnecessary exposure to electromagnetic radiation. The Cellfdefense team has worked hard to develop an app to help you become aware of the cell phone towers around you and to make informed decisions on where to position your phone for optimum reception and minimum exposure. In addition, it is always a good idea to either use a headset or the speaker mode feature of the phone.
